Boss:You know why I asked you to come here to see me right away?

Sales:No. Is it something urgent? How can I help you then?

Boss:We are going to have a company-wide layoffs. And I have just saw the list of the people who are going to be cut.

Sales:It is fine. Do not panic, boss, I know both you and I will be safe.

Boss:How can you be so sure? Our division's sales dropped 30% last quarter, and your have lost 20 customers in a single month.

Sales:Well, let's put it this way, the situation will get worse should they fire both of us.

Boss:Tell me about it!

Sales:If they let us go, they know we will jump to our biggest competitor, company X, and our division's sales will drop 60%, and they will lose all the customers I handle.

業務：如果公司趕走我們，他們知道我倆將跳槽至競爭對手X公司，那麼本部門的銷售額將跌落60%，而且公司將失去我手上所有的客戶！

Boss:That is exactly why my boss asked me to talk to you first. He suspected you and others will do that, so he is buying comnpany X right now.

Sales:So, boss, am I on the layoff list?
